Program Overview
Our Esthetics program at Neroli Institute is a Virginia DPOR-approved 600-hour curriculum that prepares students for a successful career in the beauty and wellness industry. Through a blend of theoretical education and practical esthetics training, students gain essential hands-on experience in skincare, makeup application, and hair removal techniques. This professional esthetics course is designed to build both technical skills and the confidence needed to thrive in today’s competitive beauty field.

What You’ll Learn

As part of our Virginia-approved esthetics training program, you’ll develop a wide range of practical and professional skills to prepare you for a successful career in the beauty and skincare industry. Our curriculum includes:

Skincare Techniques: Learn how to perform professional cleansing, exfoliation, skin analysis, and facial treatments using both manual and machine-based methods.
Makeup Application: Gain hands-on experience in everyday makeup, corrective techniques, and color theory to enhance your client’s natural beauty.
 Hair Removal: Master various methods of professional hair removal, including waxing and tweezing, with a focus on safety and precision.
 Facial Machines: Use industry-standard facial equipment such as high-frequency, galvanic, and ultrasonic devices.
Applied Sciences: Understand the anatomy and physiology of the skin, skin disorders, and the science behind esthetics treatments.
Business & Professional Skills: Learn salon safety, hygiene protocols, Virginia esthetics laws, and how to provide excellent client care in a real-world spa setting.

Licensing, Accreditation & State Requirements

 

The Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) is the governing body that oversees the licensing of estheticians across the state. To become a licensed esthetician in Virginia, students must meet the following DPOR requirements:

Complete 600 hours of training through a DPOR-approved education provider

Pass both the Written and Practical Exams administered through DPOR.VA.GOV

Submit a license application to the Virginia DPOR

The Esthetics curriculum consists of 600 hours of state-approved training, blending classroom instruction with hands-on experience in essential areas of skincare and beauty.
As part of the program, students are required to complete 220 practical performance tasks designed to build real-world skills and professional readiness in esthetic treatments.
